Giving back to the community has always been important to us here at Gregor
Heating. For over 30 years, we are proud to have helped others. 2018 brings a
new year and with it, a new focus for #GregorGiving.
We spend a lot of time keeping people warm and cosy across Bristol and Bath,
installing boilers and fixing heating systems but we are very aware that not
everyone has the luxury of a safe, warm home to return to.
In fact, research recently carried out by Shelter shows that around 11,300 people
are currently officially homeless in the South West, although this figure still may
not even reveal the full severity of the crisis.
Bristol itself contains the highest proportion of that figure, with 2,774 people
living without a home in the city. Every 1 in 170 people who live in Bristol are
classed as homeless, and we are passionate about helping those who are
struggling as much as we can.
In 2018, we pledge to do our bit to help those in need. We are teaming up with
Breeze FM for their Random Acts of Kindness campaign where we will be visiting
different homeless shelters and crisis centres around Bristol.
We are kick-starting the new campaign with a tour around Bristol, visiting
homeless shelters and crisis centres on the January 26th.
We kicked off the campaign with a visit to St Mungos Women’s Refuge center to
drop off our first donation of an up-cycled dining table and chairs set for six
people.
The team here at the Gregor HQ has done an amazing job already of bringing in
food and hygiene donations for us to take out to the shelters. Along with St
Mungo’s, we’ll be working to help the Crisis Centre and St Julian’s Trust too.
We are feeling excited for the year ahead, to make a difference for the local
community. We’ll be sharing lots of updates on the donations we make on our
Facebook and Twitter pages, or simply search the hashtag #GregorGiving to see
more.
We’d love you to join in as much as you can, whether it is making your own
donations, giving to food banks, or simply buying someone a warm coffee. Be
sure to let us know on our Facebook page #randomactsofkindness
