It’s been another exciting week with awards for us, as our Managing Director, Steve Gregor, received the ‘Large Employer of the Year’ award at the annual apprenticeship awards, hosted by our apprentice and training partner, On Site Bristol.
On Site Bristol provided the award in acknowledgement of our efforts to provide opportunities to learn for recent school leavers. This year alone we have recruited five plumbing apprentices with the hope that they will develop into long term employment with us. We try our best to provide a positive and supportive environment for our apprentices so they can make a smooth transition into their employment.
The evening celebrations were shared with many professionals and apprentices from the local construction industry to celebrate the investments made in young talent for the future. In total, 31 apprentices from various construction backgrounds were acknowledged for their achievements in learning and developing trade and professional skills.
The On Site programme is an excellent setup for employers to be involved in, since it helps to build sustainable careers for young people who otherwise may have struggled. The scheme is estimated to add around £5million annually into the West of England economy in total with over 95% of their apprentices continuing with their employer after completing their programme.
We look forward to continuing our support of school leavers through On Site Bristol and continue to make a difference.
