Earlier this month we were back on the stage at the Bristol Marriott City Centre Hotel to present an award at the 2015 Bristol Post Gold Star awards, designed to thank particular people in the Bristol community who have done outstanding things for others throughout the year and give them the credit they deserve for their actions.
This year Gregor sponsored the life-saver award which was presented to the Bristol South swimming pool lifeguards to acknowledge and thank them for their amazing actions this year when they saved a 70-year-old man from drowning.
Whilst swimming, the pensioner went into cardiac arrest but thankfully the staff at Bristol South swimming pool knew exactly what to do from their monthly training and their vigilance. The lifeguards had to conduct CPR on the elderly man but managed to revive him.
